Dream it.
It all begins with an idea. Twig and paper lanterns are easy to make and biodegradable. The final design can range from simple to more elaborate, artistic pieces. Twigs, tissue paper, white glue, wire, string, lights or a tea candle, your imagination and anything is possible.

Build it.
The workshops will run from December 4, 2023 to January 22, 2024. Drop-in during December and create a lantern.
Free materials and some direction are provided at the Knox Hall workshops every Sunday from 1 pm to 4 pm and Mondays from 10 am to 1 pm.

The Lantern Parade will kick off the festival on Saturday, January 27th, 2023 at 4:45 pm starting at the entrance to the Kohan Reflection Garden. We will continue through the gardens that are illuminated with Christmas lights and do a tour around the Pavilion so the residents can see the lanterns. We will march through the Orchard, over the bridge and down Slocan Avenue to finish up at the Bosun Hall for music, food, a bonfire and celebration.
